The A-Z of Emotional Resilience

D: Direct

Leadership is about being able to communicate. Clarity is vital and being able to gain understanding and followership comes from being direct. Do not mistake being direct for rude. An emotionally intelligent leader will be able to deliver their thoughts and feelings sensitively and without ambiguity. There is a fine line between using passive language that is open to interpretation and is seen as submissive and being seen as rude, in sensitive and rude. Directness is a quality that is closely linked to honesty and integrity. Be direct.
